Senior Leadership Team Alignment & Capability
Overview
The Senior Leadership Team Alignment & Capability package is a year‑long partnership designed to strengthen collective leadership across the kura. This package supports leadership teams to work with clarity, consistency, and shared purpose — ensuring that kaupapa, culture, curriculum, and systems are aligned and enacted coherently.
Rather than focusing on individual leaders in isolation, this package builds the collective capability of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), enabling them to lead change confidently and embed culturally sustaining practice across the school.
This package is suited to:
Schools wanting a leadership team that pulls in the same direction
SLTs experiencing fragmentation, role confusion, or inconsistent practice
Leadership teams leading cultural, curriculum, or systems change
Schools wanting to strengthen leadership impact without adding workload
Principals seeking stronger leadership coherence across their team
This package is designed to work with a Team of up to 4 participants.
We work with:
Primary schools
Secondary schools

Why the Senior Leadership Team Alignment & Capability Package Is Value for Money
This Is Not a PLD Programme — It Is Leadership Infrastructure
When this package is understood for what it truly provides — sustained, team‑based leadership development and implementation support — it represents strong value for money and delivers impact well beyond short‑term professional learning.
Most leadership development in schools is purchased as:
one‑off leadership workshops
external facilitators delivering generic leadership content
short‑term interventions with limited follow‑through
The Senior Leadership Team Alignment & Capability package instead provides:
12 months of sustained leadership development
Structured opportunities for leaders to align, reflect, and act together
Ongoing implementation support — not just planning
Practical tools that embed change into daily leadership practice
The result is leadership coherence, not just leadership knowledge.
In Summary
The Senior Leadership Team Alignment & Capability package is:
Not a workshop cost — it is a leadership infrastructure investment
Not a short‑term fix — it builds long‑term leadership coherence
Not generic — it is tailored, relational, and kaupapa‑aligned
For the depth of support, sustained implementation, and whole‑school impact it provides, $12,000 represents strong value for money.
Cost Breakdown (What Schools Are Actually Paying For)
This includes:
One termly SLT development hui (half‑day or full‑day)
Leadership planning and reflection
Implementation support for cultural, curriculum, and systems change
Tools and frameworks for leading staff through change
Termly progress review and refinement
This package supports the leadership team (of up to 4 participants) that drives all staff practice.
What This Package Replaces (and Improves)
Schools often spend similar amounts — or more — on:
external consultants working with individual leaders in isolation
repeated PLD that doesn’t align leadership practice
initiatives that stall because leadership isn’t aligned
time lost due to unclear roles or inconsistent expectations
This package replaces fragmented leadership support with:
a single, coherent leadership development pathway
consistent messaging and expectations across the SLT
practical systems and routines that sustain change
It prevents the cost of re‑work, drift, and stalled implementation.
Expertise That Is Difficult to Replicate Internally
This package provides access to:
Leadership facilitation grounded in real school leadership experience
Deep understanding of kaupapa Māori and culturally sustaining practice
Expertise in leading change at a systems and team level
A trusted external perspective who can challenge and support collectively
This Investment Strengthens Everything Else the School Does
Strong leadership teams:
reduce duplication and inconsistency
improve staff confidence and clarity
lead change more effectively
ensure kaupapa is enacted consistently across the kura
Without aligned leadership, even the best initiatives struggle to embed.
This package:
reduces fragmentation across leadership roles
strengthens shared responsibility
improves follow‑through on strategic and annual plans
supports leaders to lead change without adding workload
In effect, it maximises the impact of every other investment the school makes.
High‑Value Outcomes for Schools and Boards
Schools investing in this package typically gain:
A leadership team that works with shared purpose
Clear leadership expectations and role clarity
Greater confidence leading staff through change
Improved alignment between kaupapa, strategy, and practice
Stronger implementation of cultural and curriculum initiatives
For Boards, this represents:
better use of leadership capability
reduced organisational risk
improved return on PLD investment
stronger assurance that strategic goals are being enacted
